Just a couple of hundred metres from the museum you should visit Abri Pataud, a cro-magnon shelter that dates back almost 40,000 years. Some nearby sites not to miss are: Lascaux caves (renowned cave paintings) 10 km; Rouffignac (cave drawings) 9 Km – where you tour the underground by train; Belves (beautiful village) 17 km: Cadouin (abbey village) 18 km: La Roque-Gageac (most beautiful village) 8 km: La-Roque-Saint-Christophe (World Heritage Site) 21 km: Sarlat (renowned medieval town) 22 km.
Restaurants: The hotel has a fine dining restaurant “Le 1862” that extends onto the terrace overlooking the lovely gardens. For a cosy convivial lunch try the new “Côté Bistro” (open for lunch Monday to Saturday).  Les Eyzies has many other eating options across a broad price range.
