Description: This listed castle, re-built in 1880 in the style of Louis XIIIth is located near the Swiss border, between Alsace and Burgundy.The Château, furnished as it was a hundred years ago, is still occupied by descendents of the original family, offering you a real taste of French history. The historical figure, the Marquis de La Fayette, lived in an earlier re-incarnation of the castle which has been twice reconstructed, following various wars in the region over the ages. The outdoor swimming pool is open in summer.

Things to do: Enjoy the ambience of the château, take a tour of the private apartments or have an aperitif and afternoon tea with your host. Explore the Château grounds and the village (with market days on Wednesdays). Pop over to Switzerland, or visit the beautiful town of Colmar. Also a visit to Luxeil-les-Bains is very worthwhile, especially if you go via Oricourt and view its 12th century Château with its unique medieval pigeon house.
