The Dordogne provides superb accommodation options in the sometimes rugged countryside of Southern France.

The Dordogne is famous for its foie gras, wines, medieval villages, castles, rivers, gorges and of course history. They say there are 1001 castles in the region as well as some of the most remarkable villages and towns like Rocamadour, Sarlat, Monpazier. The area around Les Eyzies is also referred to as the Pre-historic Capital of the World due to the numerous pre-historic cave dwellings, with paintings dating 40,000 years ago. Near here is where Cro Magnon man was discovered. The Dordogne is also a favourite area for outdoor activities such as canoeing and walking.
